Stories, tips, and updates from the world of Samoyed rescue

Welcome to Our New Home

Today marks a major milestone for New England Samoyed Rescue - our official website is live! NESR began as a mission rooted in compassion, and now we finally have a home where our community, adopters, fosters, and supporters can gather, learn, and grow with us.

Before NESR was a rescue, it was a promise that Samoyeds in New England would have a dedicated, compassionate safety net. For years, our region has lacked a breed specific rescue focused solely on the unique needs of Samoyeds. NESR was created to fill that gap: to ensure that no Samoyed in our area slips through the cracks, goes without advocacy, or faces transition without support.

If you are looking to rehome your Samoyed, we strongly encourage you not to go it alone. Posting an ad and placing a dog independently can unintentionally put them at risk. NESR thoroughly vets and checks all potential homes, ensuring that every foster and adopter is educated, prepared, and supported with the knowledge required to care for a Samoyed. Our team and board bring over 35 years of combined experience with the breed experience that guides every placement, every transition, and every decision we make to protect these dogs.

This website is the first step in building that safety net. Here, you’ll find updates on our work, upcoming events, resources for fosters and adopters, and stories that highlight the resilience of the dogs we serve. We’re still polishing a few things behind the scenes, but we’re thrilled to finally open our doors and welcome you in.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning. NESR is more than a rescue. It’s a community, and we’re grateful to have you as part of it as we grow, learn, and create second chances together.

Samoyed Takeover at Leadfoot Brewing — Join Us for a Tail‑Wagging Afternoon!

There’s something special brewing in Chicopee — and it’s more than just great craft beer! The New England Samoyed Rescue team is thrilled to announce our upcoming Samoyed Takeover at Leadfoot Brewing on Saturday, June 27th from 1–3 PM, and we can’t wait to share an afternoon of fluffy smiles, community connection, and rescue magic with you.

Our volunteers have been hard at work planning events, meeting new supporters, and building momentum after our first-ever Samoyed meet‑and‑greet in Worcester, MA. Now, we’re bringing that same energy to Leadfoot Brewing for a fun, family‑friendly gathering where you can meet our team, learn about fostering and adoption, and of course — spend time with some incredible Samoyeds.

Whether you’re a longtime NESR supporter or brand new to the rescue world, this event is the perfect chance to connect, ask questions, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon surrounded by good people and great dogs. Well‑behaved, leashed Samoyeds are welcome to join the fun too!

And that’s not all — our volunteers have been busy creating adorable NESR‑branded merchandise to help raise funds for the medical care of incoming dogs. At the event, you’ll be able to browse and purchase items like:

  • NESR t‑shirts

  • Custom mugs

  • Water jugs

  • Beer pint glasses featuring our new dog‑themed designs

Every item sold directly supports the rescue’s mission and helps us provide essential veterinary care, safe placement, and second chances for Samoyeds in need.

If you can’t make it to the event but still want to support the rescue, donations are now live on our website. Visit NESamoyedRescue.com to set up a one‑time or recurring gift — even a small $10 donation goes a long way toward covering vaccinations, medications, and other critical care for our dogs.

We hope to see you at Leadfoot Brewing for an afternoon of wagging tails, cold beer, and community spirit. Thank you for helping us continue this work — together, we’re making a difference, one fluffy smile at a time.
